Another one hour Postal swim in the books. This didn't turn out too badly either. I was 30 yards short of last year, so only about 20-30 seconds off pace from last year. And the week prior to the swim was the week from hell for kids colds in this house. The baby was sick with RSV, son had the croup and my older daughter wound up with the croup afterward. When she caught it, I said to my wife at 1:45 a.m., the second time of four total times we had to go into the bathroom for shower steam to assist breathing, this is the Perfect Storm of children's colds and we're screwed now.
That all said, I hoped to get 3500 yards and 3520 (2 miles) is a benchmark, and I hit 3540. good enough for all that went on. Gives me something to gun for next year. I think 3600 is a good goal for next year. we'll see. Anyhow, now the real training starts for me. Running most mornings and swim or bike at night, unless longer stuff on the weekends. Took the dog out last night for about 4 miles. All sorts of Coyotes howling by the middle school in South Kingstown last night. Kind of strange to hear here in RI, but there you have it. Then back out againthis morning for another 6 or so and on the bike tonight. Fred has kindly passed me the workouts that he gives his spin group on Saturday's since that is hard for me to make. Big Thanks to Fred for that. in fact bigger thanks for prepping us for the Postal Swim again. He's got it down. great distance coach for sure....
Enough for now.
Out, MW
